Robert Mineo
I am an entertainment junkie with a full working knowledge of all facets of pop culture including music, movies, television and books. Music holds a special place - particularly Classic Rock and Pop, R&B and Dance - but I actively stay abreast of current trends in all areas while still clinging to pivotal songs and scenes from my formative years.
For nearly two decades as a writer my opinions and observations regarding pop culture have mostly been in relation to contemporary Christian music. And, my work has been featured in Christian music titles such as HM Magazine, Cornerstone and CCM Magazine as well as New York City/Long Island based mainstream periodicals The Music Paper and Inside Connection.
Before it folded in October 2007, I wrote a montly Christian music column for Inside Connection entitled "Leave The Light On" for over seven years and scored a cover story in June 2007 on Relient K. Prior to that, many features were done for The Music Paper until it ceased publication prior to 2000. Two cover stories on bigger artists were done there - an essay on Billy Joel and a profile on Stevie Nicks that included an interview with her. I also scored a cover story in 2002 for CCM Magazine about then popular boy band Plus One.
Over the years I have interviewed and met a wide variety of artists including Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Toby Mac, Third Day, Mercy Me, Sixpence None The Richer, Indina Menzel, Cyndi Lauper, and, as previously mentioned Stevie Nicks.
