A favorite act of tween girls, The Jonas Brothers deliver their third album of catchy Bubblegum Rock "A Little Bit Longer" to critical praise and strong initial sales.

In the world of tween superstars only one act truly gives Miley Cyrus a run for her money – her Disney channel co-stars and touring partners the Jonas Brothers. The three siblings from Wyckoff, New Jersey, Joseph, Kevin and Nicholas Jonas - who are 19, 20 and 15 years old respectively – have created quite a stir with their latest release A Little Bit Longer.

Not only are the boys’ core tween female fan base in a buying frenzy for A Little Bit Longer (and its 2007 Platinum predecessor Jonas Brothers) but adult critics are praising the new disc for its musical depth. Parents seem destined to enjoy A Little Bit Longer as much as their children, giving the Jonas Brothers the first multi-generational Pop album in quite awhile.

A Little Bit Longer Getting Praise From Everywhere

Across the boards A Little Bit Longer is being cited as an exciting and hearty blast of Bubblegum Rock. From Entertainment Weekly to Blender to Billboard, seasoned music critics are praising the Jonas Brothers as besting Hansen, the teen group they most easily match up to. Rolling Stone awarded A Little Bit Longer 4 out of 5 stars which is a half star less than Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III received but a half star more than Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends byColdplay received.

The Jonas Brothers are being compared to the likes of Big Star and Cheap Trick and listening to A Little Bit Longer confirms why. With the soulful vocals of youngest sibling Nicholas leading the way, the brothers really do rock their way through A Little Bit Longer which is also filled with their songwriting and instrumental skills.

From the guitar and vocal vamping of opening track “BB Good” to the quirky acoustic based “Lovebug” to the humorous “Video Girl,” A Little Bit Longer is consistently fun to listen to. And, the move into adult balladry on the title track “A Little Bit Longer,” based on Nicholas’ struggle with diabetes, succeeds without being maudlin.

A Little Bit Longer Being Purchased Almost Everywhere

In terms of opening week sales figures the Jonas Brothers are again in the company of Lil Wayne and Coldplay. Earlier this year Lil Wayne debuted with the best week of the year by selling over one million copies.

For the second largest week, Coldplay sold 721,000 units. The Jonas Brothers earned the third largest sales week so far in 2008 by selling 525,000 copies of A Little Bit Longer which also became their first #1 album. A Little Bit Longer also surpassed the 371,000 copies sold of Breakout by Miley Cyrus in its first week of release at the end of July.
